Hanger bolts are steel bolts with threaded components on both ends, one with machine threads for use with a nut or in a tapped hole, and the other with wood threads.

In the beer tap handle business, hanger bolts are used to highlight tap handles when they fit a common American beer tap’s thread. In the beer tap handle industry, hanger bolts come in two sizes. The 3/8″-16 size and the smaller 5/16″-18 size
